Tacana Young

I am Tacana Young, I possess a gift of teaching our youth how to become functional thriving successful adults which can contribute greatly to the community by helping them learn their Worth and Value.  My background is in SpEd, ECI and Juvenile Delinquency and this my has served me well as a SpEd Alternative School teacher,  Human Service Caseworker, Developmental Therapist and Investigator for DCFS.  This diversity has been a winning point in my career because it’s allowed me to grow in  various opportunities. “A Gumbo” if you will. It doesn’t make sense at first but leaves you completely fulfilled.

I began my career as a Violence Interruption Counselor and worked with bridging the gap between children and parents as well as staff and student to allow for cohesiveness in the workplace.  I spent some valued time mentoring young girls with the “It Takes a Village” program where I began the mantra “Who Are you Responsible For”? I believe in taking full ownership of our successes and roadblocks as they collectively make us Great!

As a manager I’ve fostered the belief that you best lead when you serve! I’m extremely relatable and see no wrong question in life other than the one not asked. While I understand No is a complete sentence, it doesn’t have to be Final answer!
